Anything Goes - Challenge #322-#323

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!  Welcome by the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog.  We're so glad you're here, and we look forward to having you play along and share your art with us.  We have a FABULOUS new sponsor for this challenge....Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.  We're so grateful for the support of all the amazing stores in the crafting community who support our challenges, and we encourage you to stop by and thank them for their willingness to help out this way.  We're really excited, so let's get started!

The word art for this challenge comes from Colossians 3:14 which says "And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness".  This chapter (3) of Colossians speaks to us about the characteristics of our faith, and explains how we are to live our lives in faith...putting off anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, swearing, etc.  It also explains that once we are saved (have accepted the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ), we have become a new (and different) person who will strive to be like Him.  It reminds us to be holy (following the example of the Lord Jesus Christ) by showing kindness, being humble and meek, forgiving one another....and most of all, showing one another a perfect and complete love (charity).  This will help us to achieve this "bond of perfectness".  Of course, we realize this doesn't literally mean that we become "perfect".  After all, he wouldn't have reminded us not to be angry, or to put off wrath and malice, etc. if He knew we would suddenly become perfect.  No, God realizes that we are not perfect.  But by demonstrating this perfect love (charity) in the best way we know how, we show God and the rest of the world that we are His, and that He resides in us and guides us.  We will still make mistakes.  That's because we are sinful.  If we weren't still sinful, we wouldn't need a Savior.  God is simply instructing and reminding us that once we are saved, we should show the world that we are new creatures in Him; and we should strive toward being the best versions of ourselves that we can be.  This is how we find true happiness in this life, and how we bring honor to Him.  Take a peek at Colossians 3 this week.  You are sure to be encouraged by His precious Word!

As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!

Anything Goes - Challenge #320-#321

Welcome to Word Art Wednesday for another AWESOME challenge.  It's time for more fun, and we have TWO great sponsors for this challenge.  We absolutely LOVE seeing the cards and projects you share with us, and we wish everyone the best of luck in the random draw.  Thanks so much for joining us and sharing your talents.  If you're interested in Guest Designing with us this year, please send me an email.  OK....let's get started!

Our word art for this challenge is from 1 John 4:4, which is a wonderful scripture.  This verse is a reminder to us that we are children of God.  And just like we LOVE our children, the Lord Jesus Christ LOVES His children.  In fact, He loved us enough to suffer and die for us; and to rise again and prepare a wonderful place for us - allowing us the opportunity to spend all eternity with Him.  This profound act of love should always serve to remind us that HE IS STRONG.  He is stronger than the enemy (Satan), and He is stronger than any other threat in your life.  He LOVES you so much that He is always willing to fight for you and to help you conquer your enemies (troubles, etc.).  There is NOTHING and NO ONE that is greater than God.  So, don't let ANYTHING worry you or cause you to doubt His love, His promises, or His ability to protect you from anything you're facing.  Just call on Him, and He will show you His love, give you strength, help you conquer your trials, and give you a sweet peace that passes all understanding along the way.  What a blessing!

Anything Goes - Challenge #318-#319

Welcome back for our second challenge of the new year.  Hopefully by now you've settled in to the new year and any changes that might have occurred.  We're SO grateful that you take the time to stop by and share your art with us here, and we always LOVE seeing your amazing cards and projects linked up here.  We have two AWESOME new sponsors for this challenge, and these prizes will surely make you want to play along for the chance to win.  And....we really enjoy visiting your blogs and seeing your amazing art!  Oh, don't forget....I'm still looking for a few Guest Designers for 2018.

Our word art uses the scripture Psalm 63:3 "Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee".  The psalmist was simply saying that having the favor of God in his life made it worth living.  When a person lives without the love of God during their lifetime, they aren't really "living" and enjoying life because their eternal hope is lost.  What is there to live for and look forward to?  Having the joy that the promises of knowing and loving God brings, and knowing and being loved BY God is truly better than life (a life without).  When we know God personally, our whole life becomes worth living because our eternal hope is in Him...not on this earth.  We claim God's promises by not complaining about life's trials, but by trusting that He will always take care of us.  We "praise Him" because of His love for us (what He did for us), and we live for Him because of what He has promised us.  A life lived in the lovingkindness of Jesus Christ really is better than life, and I know that I will praise Him as long as I have breath.   If you don't yet know of His lovingkindness personally, let today be the day you call on Jesus Christ to give you the gift that truly is "better than life".

Challenge #316 - #317 - Anything Goes

WELCOME BY!  It's our first challenge of 2018, and we're SUPER excited to have you with us.  We have so many AWESOME sponsors lined up for you this year, and I want to give a BIG shout-out to our super generous crafting community for all the support they give to blogs like ours by providing prizes and assistance.  I've posted all the sponsors for 2018 on a Page (here on the blog) called 2018 Sponsors, so you can see who is sponsoring which challenge this year.  We are SO blessed, and I really hope that you will play along with us every week.  By the way....I'm looking for Guest Designers for 2018; so if you're interested, please let me know.

Our word art file for this challenge is from a wonderful scripture (Deuteronomy 3:22), and it says "Ye shall not fear them:  for the Lord your God he shall fight for you".  Keep in mind that this was a troubling time, and Joshua had concerns about his safety and the safety of others as they faced large enemies (big people and large numbers of people) who could cause trouble in their lands.  These words were spoken to encourage him and remind him that when we place our faith in God, we have nothing to fear.  The same is true today.  We face enemies every day (as a country, and as individuals), but if we put our complete faith in Christ to protect us, He will always fight for us.  That doesn't mean that nothing bad will never happen in our lives; but it does mean that God promises to protect us and provide everything we need to get through life's trials.  Don't live in fear of the world; but rather, in FAITH that God will cover us.  We all know that life can be difficult at times, but God is ALWAYS what we need to get through this life with confidence...and to know that eternity with Him in paradise is certain when we place our faith in Him alone.
